Max Pittman, 74, of Davenport, Iowa died at his son's home Saturday, July 24, 2010, following an extended illness. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 10 am, Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Pittman was born in 1935 in Buffalo, Iowa to Steve E. and Lona M. Pittman. He married Donna Hartley on May 21, 1975 in Milan, IL. They divorced after over 25 years of marriage. He worked as a maintenance welder for ALCOA, retiring in 1999 after 32 years. Max particularly enjoyed helping others and staying busy, including bowling, fishing, hunting, motorcycling, and metal and woodworking.

Survivors include his daughters, Karol Pittman of Brighton, CO, and Rita (Jesse) Almanza of Vista, CA; son, Max Pittman of Buffalo, IA; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Mary Lou) Pittman of Buffalo; and sister-in-law, Mary Pittman of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jo Pittman, his parents, and brother, Jack Pittman.

Max's family would like to express their deep felt gratitude to the staff of Genesis Hospice, family and friends for their love and support.
