Robert Redmond, 67, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme St., Davenport. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July31st, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. A memorial fund will be established in his memory.

Robert was born in 1942 in Davenport, Iowa to Kenneth W.H. and Geraldine M. Redmond. He married Judith L. Shomper on November 24, 1963 in Davenport. He retired from Qwest in 2000, serving in several different capacities with the telephone company throughout his career. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, Elks Lodge # 298 and it's bowling league, the Pioneer�s and the Telephone Co. Golf League, of which he formerly served as secretary. In addition to bowling and playing golf, he enjoyed playing video poker at the casinos, eating at Harlan's, playing cards with his family, and especially watching his grandchildren during their sports events.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughters, Kim D. (Donald) Kopf of Walcott, IA, and Dawn M. Weston of Brighton, MI; son, Keith R. Redmond of Davenport; grandchildren, Jenae and Derrick Kopf, Sydney and Luke Weston, and Bobby, Ryan, Kenny, Candice, and Cathryn Redmond; great-grandchildren, Cayne and Reise Redmond; sisters, Sharon Ortiz and Bev Ryan, both of Davenport; aunt, Delores Kem; and cousins, Les, Larry and Doug Sammon, all of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diane, in infancy,
